Why do people rush to block because they disagree with someone? Do you do it? Why?

No. I haven't blocked anyone ... yet. I don't agree though with the authors of a question being able to delete someone's response. If they don't like an opposing opinion, don't ask the question in the first place.

I block when people post the same thing over and over
I've decided I'll block people who name other users in their posts to point fingers at them and get support from other members to throw stones
I don't worry about disagreements I'm an adult

People get scared when their beliefs and opinions get challenged.

Yeah there should be a delay if the person who wants to block has just sent a message to the other person or comment.

I never block, I only block back those I saw who did, blocking should be only allowed in case of attacks ore so, in general it's used for the most weird reasons.

No blocks, no mutes, no filters. I just ignore if I do not like something.

I've blocked quite a few people here, mainly for trolling others or me, posts about inappropriate content that doesn't interest me, those that have verbally attacked me unnecessarily,those that started as friends then started sending unsolicited content.
Does that make me trigger happy probably for some but I come here with good intentions if someone disturbs my peace and it can't he resolved once I've told them bye bye.

I block quick ... if I notice somebody is not likely to contribute to the dialogue ... and conveys anger ... they have lost my tolerance ... and I remove them.

I just mute if l don't like what they post, Trump or poop for example.
