I Survived a Car Crash

it took me a while to write this as it was very hard for me to put into words. i was told what happened by a off duty nurse that saw it happen and helped us out. the reason i am posting this is to try and help my self get over it. im going to miss out some details as they are not nice to hear about.

about 6 years ago me, my twin sister and my dad were on our way back from swimming. after pulling off from a green light the car was hit on the side by a drunk driver running a redlight.

he hit the drivers side of the car on the back door. my twin sister was by the door that was hit and because of the speed he was going the car spun and hit another car. everyone in my car and the drunks car were knocked out from the crash. before the firefighters or ambalances arrived i had woke up. apparently i was crying for almost the whole i was awake and she said it was the hardest thing about the crash. my dad woke up around the time the firefighters and ambalnces arrived and he got some one to phone my mum to comfort me and my sister if she woke up.

my mum managed to get to the crash quickly and i was told that she stayed with me the whole time trying to keep me still. the firefighters worked to get my sister out the wreckage first. and as soon as she was out she was put in an ambalance and rushed to hospital. my dad was after and like my sister was rushed to hospital as soon as he was out the car. but because of how the car was it took much longer to get me out.

for 3 months after i was on strong painkillers and had alot of operations but i still lost the use of both my legs. my dad got off very lucky, he has alot of problems with his hip but he seems to be use to it. but my sister becky died in the amblance on the way to the hospital. my dad still blames him self for it and when he begins to feel guilty he pulls overtime at his job as sort of a remedy for it. both me and mum dont blame him for it and we know he could not have changed what happend.

I'm so sorry for your loss and I hope that your father and yourself can move on from the tragedy, although I know it will remain in your mind.
