I Am a Big Romantic And Very Affectionate

I was talking to my friend today about my separation. She was saying I've not been in a "typical" kind of relationship all these years. This is (other than a short, 2 month one) the only relationship I've been in and it's been 22 years. It's all I've really known.

Apparently, men are more emotional and emotionally available then I've been getting. It's sad I can't even imagine what it's like to receive any of that. It's what I always wanted, I just didn't know if I'd ever have it.

What an amazing thought to experience that!

I am a bit puzzled. You are separated and you are presently in a short-term relationship? You are happy. Or you are not happy? I think as we become older, it is harder to find a good relationship. There are exes and children and other baggage involved. Was your marriage unsatisfying sexually and/or emotionally? Do explain a bit more. I am happily divorced and found a great partner about 2.5 years and a bit ago. Happier now than in my entire life. A second better life! I wish you everything good.

Be careful jumping back into the pool. There are a lot of submerged rocks. Swim out a bit to where the water is a bit deeper. It takes a bit more time but chances are you'll be happier. Play catch and release all you want but remember that that is what you are doing and don't hurt the other fish. Also, think a bit about why you are even doing it. Do you even like fish? Do you just want a trophy? The ones that you snag might just be carp.
