He shot me down today and I feel so hurt and mad.

We are like acquaintances. For a loooooong time it looked like he liked me and I liked him. He would show me so much attention and be really nice to me, tell me things about himself and look at me like I was the only person he could see. Then he would withdraw from me and avoid me and it would be like he was running from me. He is an older "mature" man and I was giving him the benefit of the doubt that he might not be into flirting or be shy. He's not any of those things. Apparently, he just likes to play when he's feeling good about himself and drop me when he feels like it and I'm so upset. Today I tried to approach him to talk and ask why he doesn't talk to me and he kept shutting me down and was cold to me. When only last week he was different and looking at me like he wanted me. Then and there I finally had my answer that I was wrong about him. He's probably married or something and seeking attention and then running when he gets it and that pisses me off so much! I feel like crying and screaming and I still have to see him every now and then. He hurt me and now I can't even look at him anymore.

Gosh, I'm so sorry. Some men play games when they should realize that kind of playing, is very hurtful and demeaning. You're so above that, and him. Try your best to let him go, unless he's able to listen to a conversation like you just presented to us. Maybe, just maybe, if he's a real man, and a real Friend, he'll talk to you so you'll know where he's coming from and where he's going. 😔🤗💕

Sorry. What a jerk dickwad.
People use other people to fill a void for their loneliness or need their ego stroked. It's really all about them but not a reflection of your worth.

@SW-User Thank you
I'm sorry this happened. He's a jerk. Don't let him have power over you. Ignore him and don't be a part of his games. He will eventually find someone else to play with.

@DreamyCrush thank you

So sorry your heart and mind have been put through this. Confronting him was the best thing though. Even if he has a lot going on it only takes a few seconds to express that. Maybe he’s not good at dealing with stress or even good at expressing his feelings, but neither excuse hurting another. When you feel the need to cry or scream, let them both come. Get that frustration out. His actions created darkness within you and it’ll hold on tight until you decide the darkness he infected you with no longer gets to take residency within you.

@PerfectionOfTheHeart I feel like I am in a dark space right now, your comment alone made me cry 😩 thank you

I wouldn't be that hurt over an acquaintence. Sounds like y'all just flirted and now he's over it. Like you said, he could be married.

This is exactly the reason I don't flirt with coworkers. I have a distant coworker that I like but I speak and keep it moving.
(Distant coworker as in :we work in separate departments in separate buildings and I don't see him everyday)
SweetFantasy · 26-30, F
@iamnikki We don't work together but you're right. It hurts because I was under the impression there was something to it.
iamnikki · 31-35, F
@SweetFantasy well it's always good to dodge drama, especially if he really is married , ya know..
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
Men know when a woman is interested in them. If they don't act on it, its either because they aren't interested, or they are too damaged to try.

Either way, you don't want these qualities in a partner.

Sorry you had a bad experience, but now you know, and you can move on and not waste any more time or attention on this loser. 🤗
SweetFantasy · 26-30, F
@SumKindaMunster Thank you, that is the silver lining but right now I have to squint to see it.
SumKindaMunster · 51-55, M
@SweetFantasy Nice. Well that philosophical reaction is a good sign that you are processing this event and will be over it in due time.

[@sweetfanatasy] sorry to here this he sound a total wanker. as hurt as you are if he blows hot and cold the way he does you should be asking yourself the question is he worth you and your affection
smiler2012 · 56-60
@SweetFantasy can understand that but why kid yourself and let yourself into more hurt and heartbreak . you need to finish it as i say he really has no loyalty and is not worth it
SweetFantasy · 26-30, F
@smiler2012 Oh it ended, technically it never even started. I was fooling myself and he was more than happy to let me. I'm disappointed in him, I had reserved a special place for him in my mind and now he's with the rest. 😔
smiler2012 · 56-60
@SweetFantasy good to here relisation has kicked in . he was a maggot
I agree with the fine comments that friends have left for you...you deserve better and in situations like this, I let "anger be my ally"...Protect yourself...and you will be able to "stare a hole right through him", the next time you see him. That will give him the message that he played his game with the wrong lady. A look. Rather than words, and then sometimes, intentionally NOT looking, recognizing, acknowledging him, not because you are hurt but that he doesn't deserve to see the lovely face and heart of the woman he played...you are strong. Take your time, work through this, you can do it. Sending a hug...💐

@MsAlaineEYes Thank you, I can definitely use your great advice.

He is a jerk. I just got rid of one exactly like that. It's just a game they play for some reason I guess.

@SW-User My condolences

As long as you realise it's not because of anything you did or offered, just some bloke getting validation from knowing you and having you want him
REMsleep · 41-45, F
These lessons and heartaches are so unkind.
But we all have these types of situations. You approached him with a pure heart and have nothing to be ashamed of. Keep it up.
Hold your head high.
The best thing that you can do for yourself is to be unbothered.
You are empowered with the truth. Don't run from him if you must see him. You have moved on right?
SweetFantasy · 26-30, F
@REMsleep Sadly, I know everybody can relate. Thank you, I wanted him to see my heart but I'm not the one for him. I am resilient but this just happened 3hrs ago and I need more time to pick my heart up off the floor 😩
