I Am a Quilter

Lawwwwd do I love those things.

I have no machine.
I use a variety of stitches. Patchwork design presently.
Stitches are not all neat or professional looking.
But it is solid work and homespun and professional combined.
The homespun part is stitching all those little 12 x 12 squares.
and professional is buying some machine made cloth and affixing it in addition to my work.
The result is better than I ever imagined.
Good use for recycling old worn out blankets, I use that and not batting.
So people can make these for very little money, and I recommend this technique
If you can take time and work slowly, its very meditative too.

Ooh how neat. This seems nearly a lost art. I know a few women who still do this but they also use machines. I was never much of a seamstress.

These types of things are good for the spirit, like therapy. That's how I feel in my garden/yard.

@Magenta Gardening makes me feel like that too

Most crafts are very hard on the hands though...lol!

@Platoscave Aah true! It's why I wear gloves sometimes.
