What are you willing to lose in persuit of your dreams?

Would you sacrifice everything you have built for the chance at having what you have always wanted?
Lullacus · 31-35, F
In order to gain anything, one must first be willing to sacrifice everything...
My foundation is crumbling around me; I'm ready keep moving forward. Or at least run in place. Whatever energy I have is dedicated to my art. I may never be a master, but I hope my small waves carry, in simply sharing soul, if only to connect with a small few... I'm not sure how much of what I'm doing on a daily basis is choice and intent, though I do have some influence. To settle for anything seems a great loss, almost impossible... I would die without this outlet/source... It's possible I'm living in complete fantasy. What else is there to live for?
@lovelywarpedlemon aome might choose to live for an ideal greater than themselves. Others choose to live for hedonistic pleasure. Both of these are perhaps 'dreams' in their own sense.

Though the question remains unanswered: what would you sacrifice for this dream?
@Jouskan47 My spirit/survival
The influence I make on others
Cost in deviation/habit
My future --
It's quite overwhelming to consider ...
Time, work, work... Work...
Or maybe I sacrifice nothing but myself
I impact the people I've mixed with
I submit

@lovelywarpedlemon that is an answer I think I can understand
I would turn on my family if it meant that I was going to one day rule this world with an iron fist! I have no allegiance or allies in my quest for power! They’re all but mere pawns in my game of chess.
@MsAnnThropy but would sacrificing your family bring you closer to this goal?
If I had to. @Jouskan47
That is not the question. Does the sacrifice of your family advance your goal?

You simply stated that you are willing to sacrifice them - but if this does not bring you closer to your desires, you are not giving them up in service of it.

My family, but I've been trying to get rid of them for years anyway. 😆
@SW-User in that case, would it be a sacrifice?
SW-User
@Jouskan47 In some ways, I still care about them. So for now, yes.

What do you do when you have no idea what you want ?

That seems to be me these days. 😳
@Picklebobble2 perhaps it is simplest to understand what your immediate wants are and why they are there - what voids that remain constant that must be filled.

Seems like if you've already built something it is part of what you've always wanted.
@HannahSky all that you have built can just as easily be a cage as a castle

@Overwatch6 that would be a paradox. As such, it would make the answer incorrect unless it is dillusion
