OMG This was my first life goal when I was about 4.🧜♀️
And for years i was down the beach every chance i got, even in winter.
I has this belief, (cos I'd heard of evolution), that if i forced my lungs enough by staying under water for as long as possible,my body would respond and i would develop gills. I used to also practice in the bath, and check the sides of my neck nearly every day for signs.
This lasted untill about the age of 7 or 8 till my brother burst the bubble of my belief.
I still remember the utter dissapointment of realising i would never become a mermaid - my major life's goal...
Took me nearly a year to get over - which is a bloody long time for a 7 year old.
But i found a new dream, and refocused my energies...
I would become a busdriver.
Secretly though, I still wanna be a mermaid. But i cant sing for shit.😩
