What's the worst that can happen if you ask teacher out on a date ?

assuming its not your teacher then its no problem, but if it was your teacher she (I assume) would be guilty of unprofessional conduct if she accepted, that could lead to her being fired. From your point of view, because your teacher is ethically unable to date you, simply asking her could be regarded as sexual harassment.

Possibly the teacher getting into trouble for accepting the offer.
