Is it too late to learn how to swim when you're in your 20s?

You can and should learn to swim at any age.. No problem.. Some people are embarrassed when they are older to learn to start, but what's a little embarrassment when your life or others are at stake..

No, it isn’t…..people going into the armed forces who have not previously been able to swim have been taught while in service.
It really isn’t too late to learn no matter what your age, as long as you can use your arms and legs.

no its not too late to learn most things except for wanting to be a Doctor with no high school Diploma and at age 59

hi beepbopbeep
hell no. Just lie on the water and when you breath in you float and when you breath out you sink. Move your arms and legs to go back up when you sink, breath again and sink again. That is pretty much swimming. The natural buoyancy of the human body in water means you need do very little to avoid floating except don't panic.
Best wishes
:)
Not at all. I took lessons in my 20s.

@Mondayschild Yeah, it gets me in trouble all the time..!
@Majorlatency thank you for pointing that out to me. It could have been worse however😂
@Mondayschild Ha! I''m not a grammar nazi, it just seemed apt considering the topic.. Try and have a goof day, I mean good day..

I don't know how to swim either....& I'd never put myself in a dangerous position of potentially drowning either so idc to learn lol
AnukBinary · M
No way! If you have the opportunity to learn you should do so. Its so much fun
beepbopbeep · 31-35, F
@AnukBinary I just feel embarrassed because I'm starting old. 😅
AnukBinary · M
@beepbopbeep I understand. It's really worth it though and to be honest I've never heard of age being involved with learning to swim.
lovingdead · 31-35, M
No....but I have a vested interest in my answer because I'm 28 and can't swim....so I hope it's not too late.

No it's never to late if you really want to do something then why not.
meemo70 · 51-55, M
It's never late
Sicarium · 46-50, M
Not at all.
No. People have learned much later than that. There's a class at the "Y" here for seniors.
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
Nope I have been working with my friend Faith for a little while now and she is 29
beepbopbeep · 31-35, F
@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Is it harder to learn at this age (20s)?
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
@beepbopbeep Than at a young age of course it is. When you are young your mind is spongy and takes everything in. But it isn't impossible
