I Want to Live In a Castle

Castle Walls
by: Rob Paquin

So many people with no dreams here
All running out of time
All running in small circles
For reasons they can't define

Looking back upon the roads they've travelled
Regret weighing upon their minds
Shackled by chains they don't remember forging
Their eyes seeing. Yet, still they're blind

There are no winds of change for them
The breeze blocked by walls they've built
That they created for their own protection
Now they're prisoners of their guilt

Seeking to keep their hearts free of all the pain
Of the loves they've held before
They've condemned themselves to living
Lives they can't endure.

My name is Rob.
I'm deep and cool
Deeper and cooler
Than a swimming pool.
I'm one who'll
Never be cruel
When it comes to rhyming
I could teach whole schools.

Thank you, kindly for the like amd comment.
