I Love the Rain

There is a break through after the summer heat. It started to rain just lightly enough to wet the parched earth, making the volcanic rocks in my garden steam. Where there is bare and cracked earth under the suns heat it's a welcomed relief...the raindrops penetrating and watching the cohesive unison binding, its like watching an open wound healing before my eyes. I stand under the coolness of the rain and lift my face to feel the rain against my skin, feeling the splatter and closing my eyes only to discover minuscule raindrops on my eyelashes as my eyes flatter open.The smell of damp earth and fresh rain always leave me in wonderment.
