I like accents because it's just a beautiful example of diversity and how interesting people can be. :) When I moved to the United States I was enamored with all of the varieties of accents here.
I have confused American and Irish accents. The potato famine of the early 1800's sure left its mark on the USA... With careful listening I can tell the difference, though...
Not sure. Some accents are nice or cute sounding. But it's really just a way a person speaks is all. I think it's because everyone around the world speaks differently and we seem to like it. Especially if it's from a different state or country that we're not familiar with.
I don't care for accents because they often make it hard for me to understand what is said. My hearing isn't the best anymore, and some accents are too much for my hearing to figure out what they are saying.
