Yes. I've had a few pass away. Grandparents and mother. Time is really the only thing that helps, grief is a process that everyone eventually goes through, even you. You will handle it in your own way and with time, be able to move forward. Life does not stop because a loved one has died, it still goes on, just in a different way.

@SW-User BTW, it is a long process and NEVER takes less than a year.

I always write it out. I've dealt with death a lot in my life (one of the downsides of coming from an older family.) Eventually you become numb to it.

My father was killed in a car accident 2.5 years ago. I still have moments when the grief is unbearable.

@ProdigalSummer That's terrible. I don't know how you cope with it. Sorry for your loss.

Death and loss is part of life: Lost youngest adult son, parents, best friend, etc. etc.

Mom, Dad, Wife (who was my soul mate), not to mention grandparents. And, to put it bluntly, you don't "get over it." You learn to live with the pain.

it hurts less as time goes on but you will always remember them. Mine i think of from time to time and remember the happy times
Yes, over 10 of them. Beginning when I was 5 years old

@CereBellum That must of been hard to deal with. Specially at such a young age.
@lucetta12 What's really weird, is I just made up a list this morning of all my dead relatives; how old I was & how old they were when they died. Was going to give it to my adult kids, so they will have some medical info.
