Why is it that there always has to be romance between 2 heterosexual characters?

Like, friendship is a concept that exists. Use it. @ all friggin shows.

I'd love it if someone could get through a plot without shoehorning in an unnecessary romance. It's also kind of awful that women in so much fiction are treated as incomplete until they get a man.

@jewelson29: It's so boring. I wish there would be more LGBT characters and also asexual characters, and ACTUAL friendships and no romance/sex with straight characters. Like it's not hard.
