Do you think there are people who are capable of commiting suicide and people who are not?

Setting aside obvious causes like depression, deprivation, etc.

Well yes thats why people do commit suicide. Some want to but cry for help because deep down they want to live but life becomes too painful to cope.

@sophrai: Don't think so. I've been in a situation where I've really longed to be dead but couldn't do anything about it. It could be a deep-seated horror of violence, I suppose.

People who announce the others that they are going to kill themselves are rarely able to do what they say. But people who keep quiet are the one that do not feel hesitate to end up their life.

Yes, that is why I usually think that we can not stop someone to kill themselves but they don't want to raise their voice and share the reasons why they feel sorrowful.

@wildflower12: I'm sure that's very true. Sometimes well-meaning advice can make the situation worse, so we learn to keep quiet. But I still wonder if some people have chemicals or something in them that simply won't let them do it, and some don't.
