Do you think that if farts produced a pleasant smell or sound that they would be considered socially acceptable?

I mean, sneezes are practically your nose sharting itself, but nobody really seems to mind them. Do you think that inoffensive farts would then lend itself to the same kind of treatment? Or would they still remain uncouth?

I don't no why people are so offended by farts everyone does it's just a noise an air an u can always get use to the smell most farts don't even smell tbh though
@ocean2501a: Um. Lucky for you. My farts can clear a room. Not to sound gross. #toxic

I do think the bad smell is why they're considered unacceptable. If they smelled like cookies I imagine they'd be celebrated, no?
That's the best and most accurate description of a sneeze I've ever heard.

And yep, I'm with KingofPizza on this one.
Good question. The reactions would be better. For sure. ☝🙂

hi HalfCactus
I mind sneezes. I avoid people who are sneezing or coughing as they are spreading germs. So I consider sneezes socially unacceptable especially if people are ill. Making others ill is really uncouth!
As for the rest smells and sounds are pleasant by virtue of learned associations and so the answer to your question is no.
Best wishes
:)
You are an amazing human being and I am glad to know you.

one of the great mysteries of humanity...

arent they somewhat pleasent though? I know that majority of humans somehow enjoy the smell of their own farts. It's a social taboo but it's true. I think that if they were pleasent to other people as well, then you'd certainly get away with it.
@MartinTheFirst: True that. ☝
