Reported on the BBC news website: Brian Cant has passed away. He was 83.

For those of us Brits. of a certain age, Brian was a permenant fixture of our television childhood from the early 70's up until the early 90's. With shows like Play School and the legendary Play Away.

@AliceinWonderland: Well we've lost a few of the heroes we grew up with in recent years. But this guy was like a big kid ! It's like he was one of us !
Really sad.
