Have you ever read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland? There's one part in particular that comes to mind:
Alice is lost in the forest and asks the Cheshire Cat which way to go. The Cheshire Cat says "That depends on where you want to end up." Alice says "I don't much care where-" and the Cheshire Cat interrupts "Then it doesn't matter which way you go."
The point being, if you find yourself lost in life, with no idea where you are or where you're going, then just simply go forward. You'll end up somewhere eventually. All that matters is that it won't be exactly where you are right now.
