Did you know that science is not absolute but it's durable?

Yup. It's also influenced by.....humans.....who aren't free of error. *shocker*

Science is merely a collection of abstracted data points made to conform to the observed reality. Abstractions are never 100% correct, mind you pretty much all conscious thought is abstraction, they're just a case of 'good enough.'

@UndeadPrivateer: Abstract has to do with it, but that's not all it is, it's also trial and error, it's not just "thought process" although it is fundemental to it, I agree

@offingg: It is indeed trial and error, but that in itself is an abstract construct. Abstraction has everything to do with it. Mathematics is nothing but abstraction and it is the foundation of modern science, which is now primarily created through making mathematical models which conform to the observed reality. A form of very heavy abstraction.

Trying to imply more than that is moving into the realm of quackery, imo, though a lot of scientists love to do it and act like they have some kind of key to the secrets of the universe. Really we just work off of what we can observe, and we get proven wrong pretty often even when we're really sure we had it right.

@UndeadPrivateer: Exactly, I friggin love your answer. *applaud*

There cannot be an absolute when there could be infinite variables or possibilities. Those that scientists are not even aware of yet.
Science is just a mark of progression of what we do know. It will always be subject to change as we keep adding more knowledge to the knowledge tank.

@Aidolovemostofyourthoughts: I'm not disagreeing, science isn't absolute but IT IS credible. If I disagreed I wouldn't be in professional school studying something that is scientific.

@xxxxxx: Then, help me understand what you're asking?
offingg · 26-30, F
@xxxxxx: Science would never be absolute, that's the thing that keeps driving its' progress, if science was absolute it is not science anymore.

Science is providing the best answer with the evidence available. The answer can change as the evidence changes.

@offingg: as a woman, thanks also for misinterpreting what I said and giving me a smart answer
