Why do all the friends I try to make stop talking to me?

This has been happening for years. Maybe I come on way too strong, maybe I'm too much to deal with, maybe I'm ugly, maybe there's just some weird genetic defect that makes people not want to know me after a while. But I suppose it doesn't really matter.

Sounds like the life cycle of a friend. People get busy and fall out of touch unless both sides are actively trying to make things work. It just happens.

I guess so. It would be nice to have someone who is there regardless though.

I would ask people for an honest assessment of how you come off appearing to them. It could offer you valuable clues to help you in the long run.
