Is changing your surname when you get married a good idea?

Snickerdooodle · 31-35, F
If that's what you want then yes of course it's been that way for centuries.
EnigmaticGeek · 61-69, M
Never. It makes it much more difficult for childhood friends to reconnect with you.

Changing your surname also changes who you are, which can actually make the marriage less stable if the changes result in less compatibility with your spouse.

When you change your name, you quite literally become someone else because of the different energies of the new name.

Personal choice, depends on the circumstances

I say the bride and groom should take all the letters from their surname and make up a new one

Beautiful idea

@plungesponge: yes 🙊🙊

That depends on some things. Most ladies keep their maiden names at work. Hard to go thought chaining paper work. And other legal hurders you might have. Can be a factor.

For some people it is, but not all. How attached are you to the surname Angel? 😏

Lol not a whole lot
