They don't tell your future. They don't tell u what you don't already know. They aren't mystical or spiritual. But they are connected to our subconscious. An play on symbolisms we learn in society.

@Cavedweller: I agree. They both have merit. However, PERSONALLY, I prefer the Gary Jules version. Tears For Fears version seems to be to "peppy" for a "sad song"?? Of course, that could be their intention. A "sad song" with a "festive" beat to induce the listener into seeing the irony??
