Are you buying a real Christmas tree or do have an artificial tree?

Datdudeblack · 36-40, M
artificial. I'm not into the cutting a tree down just to throw it out in 2 weeks

I agree. Its such a waste to cut down a tree.

In fairness, the trees sold for xmas use are commercially grown like any crop. Your tree will be quickly replaced, and at least around here, buying a tree helps a local small businessman/farmer.

@doctorlove: i know but still waste of money and i rather have the tree growing in my home or outside. plus the hassle to throw it away.

I have an artificial tree. I feel like it was fun when I was a kid to go pick out a tree but I also think its a waste of money to go every year and get a tree. You could spend it on a gift instead lol. This year I bought a mini live potted tree that will grow and be my Christmas tree next year hopefully.
This is perfect to me, and then in the Spring you plant that tree someplace and get a new one the following year. You might even get two years out of a tree like that, they grow fairly slowly when potted. Good idea.

@BalletDancer: Yeah the trees were so adorable I had to get them. And yeah I never thought about replanting them but thats a good idea.
It's fun to replant trees, then you can go walk there once in a while to see how it is doing. Maybe one day you can tell your kids that you planted all these ones yourself.

No tree and no Christmas. Humbug!

it's not my holiday bro..🙃
wish you a happy Christmas..
I will not kill a living thing to celebrate a fake event (XMas). Trees make the air we breath, why would anyone want to kill that? It lasts in your house 2 or 3 weeks and then you throw it out. I never understood that.

We have an artificial tree. We just replaced the last one we had, it lasted 20 years. That is 20 trees we have saved.

I don't do Christmass anymore

We always did real. But the artificial trees have gotten sooo much better aesthetically. We decided we'd make the move when we couldn't buy a real tree under $50 any more. I think it was 3 years ago. No regrets.

I like a real one, but it's a ball ache having to clean up needles every day. There are trees that don't drop, but they don't have the same smell..which is the whole point for me
SW-User
Artificial, it's a nice one and no mess
SW-User
Yeah, me too. I do like the smell of the real ones though
doctorlove · M
Lol - $15 wreath from the Boy Scouts!

(okay - a FEW needles)

Good idea

Artificial because I have dogs and cats and tend to travel. It's easier and safer to have artificial.

Artificial. My son has allergies. It's going up today.

Neither. Not having xmas this year
You don't have to hide for XMas, just get out there and mingle, maybe help some person that is struggling or something. Make a batch of cookies and hand them out.
