@Beatbox34 My aunt was born in 1913 and she told me that they would drag their beds out onto the porch and sleep outside at night during the hot summers. And they would soak sheets in water and hang up to help feel cooler. So many mosquitoes here that a person would need mosquito netting on a bed.

@cherokeepatti Interesting. My mom knew a couple of home remedies to ward off mosquitos but usually the farms were a bit away.
It's so interesting how we've come so far yet gone back in terms of progress. It seems like we've progressed but in reality it's made things worse.

Yeah I was hoping it would be a mild start to summer because of all the rain we've been having

I hate the feeling of heat :/

@FreestyleArt I had to keep taking breaks to cool down. I also drank cold water and a half a shot glass of dill pickle juice each time I came inside to keep my electrolytes level. That makes a big difference.

@MrBrownstone so senseless but it’s St. Louis. Left babies without their father.
