The French Revolution...A turning point in history? The Queen, Mary An Tonyette was on one side, the poor or the 'pheasants' were on the other

She did feel sympathetic, the pheasants clamoured at the palace gates demanding bread. The Queen felt sorry for them and uttered the famous words, 'let them eat steak'. Unfortunately there was not enough steak to go round so some of them had to have sausages. This angered their leader, Napoleon Bonacorde and his followers,(the yellow vests) so they stormed the Winter Palace and captured poor Mary. It was a sad episode in history, Mary An Tonyette (also known as the face that sunk a thousand ships) was harried amidships and electrocuted on the guillotine. France then became a theocracy and started the Second World War. What lessons can we learn from this tragedy?

That depending on who's telling the story, even a good guy can be made to look bad.

According to historians her famous quote wasn't even hers, but she was rumored to have said it and it obviously spread like social media.
On the contrary she was very sensitive to the needs of the poor and contribute to charitable causes.
