Do you (or do you ever) plan on going to grad school?

I am exhausted. I love it but I'm tired. Thankfully this week is the last of this quarter and I get a one week break before I resume work again.

I have been trying to fine tune my model to match experimental results and I am TIRED. I fell asleep working on it and legit had a dream that I woke up tomorrow (presentation day) and I hadn't even made my presentation yet so I ended up having to present with my shabby skeleton of a report. Irl I finally did get my teammate to contribute but there isn't so much he can do since he doesn't really even understand the project. Going to be up all night today, and after the presentation tomorrow morning I will probably just "pass out" lmao.
Nope.

I used my GI Bill to get a degree in an engineering field. Used it for about 3 years before I decided to do a start-up.

EVERYONE told me it was a crazy idea and I'd never make a dime.

Here it is 25 years later and I'm still doing it every day.... and I have made a whole lot of dimes....

@Threepio good on you for following your gut, it everyone has the courage to do that
@somedude15 Yeah... Even though I knew I could succeed, it was a big gamble at the time, I had a family of four to feed and a sick mom to take care of. But the hard work paid off and continues to pay off, so I'll probably keep at it for the rest of my life.

I went for physics.
@SW-User Super smart. 😊

I did post-grad in education and communications, then masters in international community development. It was the post-grad study that was most transformative for me. I used it in so many ways - global trainings and developing tools for community use that change the way people see things. Help people think things through themselves because they see it clearly. How to be simple and profound.

I wish I went for my masters 15-20 yrs ago.

@somedude15 I don’t think I have it in me anymore. I’m 51 now, & it would take 2-3 yrs part-time.
somedude15 · 22-25, M
@marsbar just because it'll take a while doesn't mean you won't finish it! Especially if it's something you're interested in, I say go for it! You don't want to look back and keep thinking "what if"

@somedude15 Thanks

Good luck with completing yours.

I got my MBA in 2016. I would never have been interested in a PhD or anything like that, though.
My grad school days are 20 years behind me — but I loved grad school

@BiasForAction it's really nice to get to dedicate all your time to becoming an expert in something you're interested in, but it's also a lot of work. So much work. What did you go to grad school for?

I wish you energy and may you listen to your inner passion
somedude15 · 22-25, M
@Mindful thank you!!
I did for a semester. it wasn't for me
somedude15 · 22-25, M
@stound I can definitely understand that

somedude15 · 22-25, M
@MarkPaul what field?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@somedude15 Probably marketing and finance.

I'm there now 😩
I started on my masters in education, but was promoted at work and the extra responsibilities forced me to put school on hold.

@bijouxbroussard plan to go back?
@somedude15 Yes, if only to have it completed. I still have my original work, including my thesis.
