would you/ do you trust your body’s natural time clock to wake you up for work? (ex no alarm)

I am usually awake by 7 but idk if i trust myself for that to happen when it comes to work days even though it really is everyday that i wake up at that time.

at the beginning of corona i tried goign toi bed when tired and sleep till i wake up by myself...

turned out i have a 30 hour day cycle... awake 20 hours and 10 hours sleep...

i felt great and full of energy.. to bad thats not compatible

That’s interesting, I am sure many people are the same but in this world dictated by a 24 hour clock you just don’t get the chance to find out@Bad4U

I worked shift work for 40 years.

I have no idea what normal sleep is.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
I have never used an alarm clock
minxy · 46-50, F
Oh yes, I'd consistently go to sleep around the same time so my body clock would wake me.
These days my cat is my alarm.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
we just got a new kitty last year. I’m so thankful he sleeps till we wake up @minxy
minxy · 46-50, F
@DoubleRings Aww, yes. That's so nice of him. In my cat's defense I made the mistake of feeding her ONE TIME in the early morning. So it's now the new breakfast time.

With work from home, where I don't need to wake up at dark o'clock to get ready and out the door before traffic? I can trust it fairly reliably.

Any earlier than that? Hell no.

I wish I needed an alarm. I usually get up for work around 6am. My body wakes up around 4:15 to 5:30am.

@DoubleRings I think it's genetics. My mom was the same way.
Powderflask · 31-35, M
Yes. I’m usually up at 4:30 whether it’s a workday or not
summersong · F
I always set an alarm but I’m almost always awake before it goes off.
I'm usual alert before my alarm, not always.

Need an alarm to wake me up.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
I haven't set an alarm for years. I really don't need it.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@FeetAreFantastic really? never slept in by accident?
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
@DoubleRings nope. But even if I did it wouldn't matter much. My work times are flexible and I have to work from home anyways
