How come Chauvin got 2 murder convictions of different degrees and a manslaughter?

I thought one murder = one conviction - don’t understand all the different convictions.

There’s a difference between you got spooked and killed someon or you just wanted to knock them out and killed someone by accident then them begging for mercy but you’re still killing them

@NiftyWhite does involuntary manslaughter invole the victim begging for his life?

@SW-User no - does plain ol’ manslaughter?
SW-User
@NiftyWhite not really but I think it should be included. Did you kill this man? Yes did you know you’re killing this man? Yes. Boom! Two for one
It was to make sure he spent 1 night in prison

Most he would be eligible for parole ... now his attornies have to sort through it
I was just reading about that.

It works differently depending on the state. It doesn't make much sense.

That was so we would not have the riots.

I just had this conversation with a friend. Just spent a few minutes trying to figure it out but couldn't find anything. I understand that they're different crimes, with different potential sentences, but they all pertain to the same death.

Strange. Probably playing to the crowd so they know that he was found guilty.
