Do acts of kindness have a motive?

Oster1 · M
I like being kind and love to be kind to other kind hearted people. I never expect anything in return. It always comes back to me too and I don’t ask for that. Generations many more people were as in daily life.😊

Yes. Can be the good feeling you get from performing it, or the fact that you feel bad seeing another person (or animal) suffering and the kind act removes that feeling from you. Could also be a way to assuage guilt if you have been lucky in life or to somehow make up for past bad actions. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, the result is still the same - someone who needs help gets help.

Yes, all acts have a motivation.

They should. (kindness)

Yup. Even if it's just to be liked or get a pat on the back, it's a motive. If not true, we would be kind to our enemies and not just people who we want to like us or we like. It wouldn't be partial "kindness"

Yeah. I think that's what Nietzsche said too. But ig if it doesn't harm anyone, it doesn't matter.

Anything that produces a good feeling isn't entirely selfless.
They shouldn't, but perhaps human nature gets in the way sometimes

There can be different thoughts. Don't try to generalize everybody's thought.

You can try to think what should be your approach.
If it's a true act of kindness, the motive is love.

@Donotfolowme Could this be a motive?
They like the feeling they get from helping others?
Donotfolowme · 51-55, F
@LeaDhelani thought of earning a good deed with genuine efforts can't be called a motive
