Of people here who smoke, how many started because of or to appeal to a desired romantic interest?

I initially started because literally all of my friends were smoking and I was sick of sitting inside while they all went outside to smoke. What a dumb reason.

I quit 14 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did.

I started because it seemed to help with my depression. I still smoke because I'm addicted, and I don't have the willpower to stop.

Not sure if you mean nicotine or weed. But the latter helps me eat more regularly and makes me less anxious. That said, the first time I tried it was with a couple friends and I just wanted to see what it was like

Only tried nicotine once outside of hookah lounges once from a pen and got a nic high. Laid down for fifteen minutes praying I didn't hurl after that

Friends had nothing to do with my choice. I started because it helped me calm down after trauma that happened to me at a young age..

i started cos i was stressed and used it as a way to chill tf out

I started just cause most of my friends did. They all kicked the habit since. I’m still struggling.

I had the cliché moment with my dad who made me smoke the entire pack after I stole one lol

I don't want to go into it - but peers had nothing to do with me starting to smoke.

I smoked because my mum did and looked cool....

She encouraged me to as well...
