I got two Croft and Barrow cotton quilts from Kohl's this year (queen size) for 33.99 each online which is a very very low price for a queen cotton quilt. I haven't gotten them yet so only can hope for the quality but it's a good brand that I like their other stuff of. I also got a 10 pack of big and tall mens Tek Gear socks for 8.50 (which is an amazing deal also) to top off my order to $75 for free shipping. Again, haven't seen them but Tek Gear is a trusted brand for me. If I don't like them I can always return them to a store nearby. My last cotton quilt I bought cost me $50 used on Ebay so I am excited. :) I also got a 7.25 qt. NuWave Brio air fryer at an amazing price as a gift for someone. Theyre usually 129.99 and the price was 67.99. I paid 120 bucks for the 6 qt that I have a while ago and I love it so I know it's gonna be good. Had to top off that order with an extra 8 dollar purchase to get free shipping as well. (I bought them in two transactions. Well worth it I think.) Got a large print bible word search per request to top that one off for free shipping too. half price than usual.

Ugh consumerism makes me want to barf

I try to mostly patronize small, privately owned shops. We have an "Old town" section in our city with unique, funky shops that are fun. No "Black Friday" for me.

@Grateful4you Yes I’ve been trying to do the same !
Seems ludicrous that the small business should be thrown under the ‘business bus’ just because they don’t have the square footage floor space !
Several local vendors in my town are now actively advertising that if folk know what they want they’re prepared to deliver it personally.

@Picklebobble2 Same here, our health food store does curbside, you call in your order and they bring it to your car. One twist of irony, our very old drive-in theatre is doing a booming business, before the curfew took effect the lot was filled.

@Platinum Yeah i keep looking for things like tablets.
My Mother loves to write letters but her arthritis means she can't do too many each day like she used to.

Nope. I stay out of the consumerist zoo. Would be tempted to start swinging punches. Or at least head slaps.

Shopping from home this year. I will be looking online throughout the day.
