Do you have a smart watch?

I scoffed at the Apple Watch until my wife bought me one for our anniversary.

How does it save me?
- I constantly set timers. If I set the dog out, I set a timer. When I'm cooking, I set timers.
- I look at my calendar every morning and set alarms for every meeting that day.
- It gives me a gentle buzz when my iphone is giving me car directions. It knows I'm not listening so that haptic reminder is helpful
- exercise tracking and sleep tracking. It's more important than you think when you're not a diligent person

Do you have a Fitbit, Garmin, Apple, or a different "Smart" watch?

I have an Apple Watch, but it’s completely fucking useless.
I got it as a gift, and I’m pretty sure I’ve only used it twice.

@MiserableAtBest Resale value holds though? I'd look at selling, perhaps?

Apple Watch wearer here
I had no idea how much a stupid watch could improve my life and efficiency!!

Only wish I had gotten the fully wireless model instead of the basic one which repunte phone be at least 60 ft (maybe less or more?) within me and my watch to make phone calls. All other functions still work without my phone near me

@KaysHealingPath I feel like a fool talking to my watch. I wish it could snap a photo but I know a camera would take a lot of room.

@SW-User I feel like a spy on a top secret covert mission when I talk to my watch 😅😅😅

I've considered a fitness watch with heart-rate monitor for when I exercise, but not a smartwatch. My routines are fairly regular and if I have the odd task I might forget I just use my phone alarm for that. How often does it need charging, I wonder?
SW-User
@PhilDeep I charge it in the 30 minutes I read before bed. Then I charge it again when I shower in the mornings.

I've never had it die on me using that schedule.

I got a Samsung Galaxy watch simply because I like the look of it more. I looks like an actual watch, and I like the bezel control. It still paired with my apple phone and does a nice array of things.

@Zaphod42 I wouldn't care what the brand was... I now know the things I need to look for in the next watch.

I had a fit bit but I was allergic to the band. I kind of want an apple watch but I'm afraid the same thing will happen.
SW-User
@SwampFlower There is a fabric band and a rubber band. Maybe one will work.
SwampFlower · 31-35, F
@SooperSarah I tried different bands for the Fitbit and eventually gave up. There may be more options for apple or the newer fitbits.
@SwampFlower I ended up getting a metal band from amazon for the extra durability.
I love fitbit. There's no better software package and ui than fitbit.

@SooperSarah Fitbit watches were rarely waterproof. Hence... I was Garmin and Pebble before Apple.
@SW-User I work with people that have apple and samsung watches. They're forever whining about having to charge them. Fitbit's batteries lst almost a week. And they're now swim proof or better.
SW-User
@SooperSarah I charge mine for 30 mins at night and 15-30mins in the morning. It's not a big bother unless I'm camping.
No. I don't need any but nice that your needs are being met.
@sspec you never raise you need it until you get a smart watch
@mysteryespresso guess am too sleepy to comprehend this.
Haha I love mine, too! It's not an apple though, it's the rose gold kate spade scallop.

@Harriet03 Nooo!
Mrsbetweenfatandfit · 26-30, F
