Does it matter if your tape measure is beat up a bit inside?

Check that damaged section against a ruler. If 20cm is still 20cm then there's no problem. If 20cm is 19.8cm then you know it is making a difference, and you'll know how much. Sometimes a small amount doesn't matter - depends on what you're measuring for.

@Thexboxoneguy1991 Dents usually don't matter at all. But if you want to be sure, test that section of the tape measure against a ruler. If 10 inches is still exactly 10 inches, you have no problem at all.
