Yeah. I had to learn, because I have hypoglycemia, and it's far more embarrassing to pass out because of low blood sugar.

No, I don’t eat in public at all

I have no problem eating alone in a restaurant. There have been times in my life when I did not know anyone around me well enough to go out and eat with them. Ever since those times, even though I now do have a circle of family and friends, eating alone has felt perfectly natural.

Is it being alone or the whole attention/attitude equivalent of not knowing what to do with one's hands when dressed nicely?

If you need some way to absorb your attention, always carry a book to read, books of puzzles, or use a language learning app...etc., etc., etc.

Whenever I traveled for business, I always brought a book with me. (we didn't have smart phones back then.) I would sit in the most hidden spot I could find!

Yes, if it's a casual type place it doesn't bother me. I usually have something along with me to read while I eat. Why do you think this bothers you?
