It makes you wonder though, if he's truly as popular as he and his sycophants claim why would he need voter suppression like that in the first place :?
@TopOfTheWorld Absolutely true. The real question every American should be asking themselves is why ANYBODY would want to have a 'vote by mail' election. That isn't even an election. That is a scam regardless of who wins or who cheats. Here in Canada we have some election fraud but it is hard to pull off. How does our system work? Every Canadian becomes eligible to vote and is put on the voters list when they pay their federal income tax. The day of the election you go to the polling station with ID and you are told which booth has your name on its list. You go to the booth show your ID and are given a ballot. Your name is then stricken off the list. You go behind the curtain and mark your ballot with one X beside the candidate you support. You then go back to the booth and give the ballot to the clerk. The clerk tears off the identification tab on the ballot and puts the tag into a box. The clerk then gives the ballot back to you and you put it into the ballot box. Throughout this process the procedure is watched by scrutineers from all parties. Any irregularity and the process is stopped. After the polls close the identification tags are counted. Then the number of ballots are counted and they must match. Then the ballots are opened and the results tallied. Very little chance of fraud. Mail in ballots destroy all those safety checks. A person with a good printer could scan and print innumerable ballots and send them in. A person could mark multiple ballots without anyone knowing. A person could remove ballots from the mail. Ballots would be mailed to everyone but not everyone is interested in voting. What happens to those ballots? Does some enterprising ballot harvester collect them and mark them for their chosen candidate? The US and anyone who supports mail in balloting accepts fraudulent elections. So much for democracy.
@hippyjoe1955 a few points: Trump himself, and his family, have voted by post. How hypocritical is he to seek to deny others the right that he avails himself of. Trump is more than happy for people to vote by post in Florida, funnily enough. Almost a quarter of votes in the 2016 Presidential election were postal votes, I wonder why Trump didn’t cry foul then? Many studies have produced evidence showing that the amount of fraudulent voting by post to be tiny fractions of less than 1 per cent of votes cast. That word , evidence, Trump hates that word , based on his years long record I’m genuinely not convinced that he actually understands what it means, not just in this context but in numerous other ones too.
@TopOfTheWorld Absentee ballots are not mail in ballots. The person who is absent must request a ballot. Ballots are not mass mailed out. HUGE DIFFERENCE. Too bad you don't know that. Yes absentee ballots are open to fraud and should be kept to a minimum but that does not validate vote by mail. Care to try again?
