A pondering on a certain movie.

Earlier this week someone asked the question “What makes you cry?” and I responded “the final scenes from Charlie Chaplin’s film ‘City Lights’” which is true. It gets me every time.
Turner Classic Movies (TCM) has a theme during the month of August entitled “Summer Under The Stars” - movies featuring the star of that day are shown, and today (8th) the spotlight is on Charlie Chaplin. I’ve just finished “Limelight” and following the current feature (“The Great Dictator”) comes - you guessed it - “City Lights”!
Even though I know what’s going to happen I have to watch. The film is nearly flawless: the writing, directing, the performances from the cast all come together to make a must-see movie. Truly it’s one of Chaplin’s best films ever.

Human nature is amusing sometimes, don’t you think?

I cried as I watched a movie called: The Sleep Room. Especially at the end. One of the most moving films I've ever seen.

@seeandhear It's a historical drama about some CIA sponsored MKUltra experiments done on unwitting mental patients at a hospital in Montreal, Canada back in the 1950s. It's historically accurate, and very moving as it reveals each person's struggle toward health and sanity or descent into unethical and cruel behavior.
