Did you see the video of the explosion in the port of Beirut? What do you think it was?

The blast is being blamed on a stash of explosives

Lebanon's Head of General Security says the blast was caused by a fire in a depot of highly explosive material, including Sodium nitrate, at Beirut's port. He said that material was confiscated from a ship months ago and stored there.

That’s several thousand tons of ammonium nitrate going up. They had stored this highly explosive fertiliser there after it was impounded when a ship went bankrupt. The initial fire causes the ammonium nitrate to form a thick dust which only takes a slight spark to explode.
From the video I saw it appeared that there was a fire and then something unknown in the immediate vicinity exploded.

I have heard explosives were stored in that area, but I'll wait for the official investigation to tell me what it was...

its not a tactical nuke, was an israeli hit, the plume was due to rocket fuel exploding, that means, they were hitting a rocket exchange center where Iranian rockets were being given to Hamaz.

A fireworks factory went up and then a second, much much much larger explosion.

I think the cause will become apparent and I'll avoid jumping to conclusions.

It was sad. A small fire set off something which set off the chemical fertilizer.

I'm guessing it can only be one thing: terrorism?.....sadly.
