"Chasing Amy Winehouse"

I'm cruisin' down a desert dirt road,

Thinkin' of you... and

Listenin' to our playlist of songs.

Regina Spektor pours her heart out,

with How, and Fidelity…

Her words are givin' you a shoutout,

Telling you that one day maybe, we'll begin again.

The Script calls out your name…

Telling you that I got Nothing…

12 Stones are telling you The way I feel,

And then, Lie to me...reminds me of the lies that I've told.

I know now, that it will never be the same.

And the thought of losing you is

Beginning to take hold,

And it's slowly, driving me insane.

I know you-

I know your favorite songs,

Your favorite band,

Lana Del Rey

Calls you, says

Come, get

High by the Beach,

The longing, dark desire,

Almost brings you to tears.

I know you,

I know your worst fears,

And I know I promised- to never let go of your hand.

I know your deepest secrets,

As only you- know mine,

I just can't seem to let you go…

Nor can I pretend to turn back time.

But, if we could try again,

Just start from start,

I'd take away the hurt that I caused you,

The pain that crushed your heart.

I'd give you more than a promise,

I'd give you the key to my inner world-

And open the doorway into my soul,

And the window to my heart.

I'd never let you fall again,

I'd be there to pick you up…

A friend to make you whole.

But I realize, that I'm chasing a dream,

That you're probably never going to give me that

Chance.

So now, I'm chasing the ghost of

Amy Winehouse,

You know I'm no good.

because, Love is a losing game

Her soulful voice echoes my

Addiction to you,

And your pain...
echoes her Dance.

Very tough choices but Freddie was the ultimate showman! Think I would have put Janis up there before Amy Winehouse but that's just my generation...

smiler2012 · 56-60
@MeowsoliniReturns yes first time heard it when it was in the british pop charts in 1973 was a good song even when i was that young it has puns in it which are right up my street and it always remind me of a man i worked for well not worked for but my boss i had a lot of respect for not that i always gave him it i was younger and more cheeky then but i never meant any harm and he was small and a white beard and would of looked authentic posed for a toadstool for a picture 🤣

You leave me no choice 🤔 I pick one.

O.k...i would like to edit my response. In my defense , when I got here there were not so many choices. I will change my answer now to Elvis bc he is the King of Rock n roll , and I saw Bowie and Johnny Cash...so Elvis!

Prince and Tom Petty aren't there. 😕

But from the List I'd bring back Bob Marley

@SW-User sorry, listen to his live concert and close your eyes, you'll be there
SW-User
@ronisme1 I will do that... thanks

I think I would go with either Jackson or Marley. Even though he was a strange man, Jackson had a lot of hits with great music, even with the Jackson 5.
Montanaman · M
Jim Morrison 😎

Let them enjoy their retirement. There is probably a good reason they all stopped preforming.
Zoranna · F
@Dolimyte 🙄 Yep, one very good reason.
UglySpudicus · 51-55, M
@Dolimyte think you'll find being dead is the reason 😀

Bowie or Hendrix and I would have to go with David as either the thin white duke or aladin sane
