Anyone else enjoy conversations with conflicting ideas or beliefs?

You could call them arguments but that has a negative spin on it.

I love hearing conflicting beliefs or ideas on given topics. Others seem to take it personally but I hope others just enjoy the experience.

Sometimes once upon a time, not these days though.

A healthy debate with an intellectual can end in someone gaining new insight, problem solving and compromise- those are usually good things, no?

@Starcrossed Some would disagree. I've met enough people who refused to accept different opinions from their own. Either they wouldn't or genuinely couldn't.

I don't always enjoy it, but I think it's important to talk to people who have different points of view as long as they're mature about it.
