Equality of opportunity is fine.
Lowering standards to have equality of outcome is not fine, it's counterproductive.
@FreeSpirit1 well said

I think making the schools more equal would be a good thing

@IstillmissEP I understand now. Thanks for clearing this up.

if they are public schools then I don't think they should have testing standards for admissions. I think they should let everyone in. it might suck for the students but i think it is only fair. a compromise could be advanced classes for advanced students. (after giving it like a minute's thought)

@IstillmissEP well, if they were that smart would they really need to rely on public school to educate themselves? especially in this computer age of free knowledge.

@IstillmissEP I mean beyond "average" schooling. but anyway, i already stated i think they should leave it and put the focus on bolstering vocational schools so each demographic gets their own form of special treatment

France adopted a system akin to that but result is employers constantly want more and more study years afterwards.
So the idea might be well meaning but it is shooting yourself in the foot.

i often disagree with you on many things...
but i disagree with getting rid of the test. they need to give more access to educational materials so everyone has an equal chance to pass. not lower the standards

Totally counter productive in the long run anyway. The standards get lower and lower therefore your piece of paper means nothing
What happens is that longer and longer years of study are REQUIRED to meet any standard
