It looks like xixgun has left SW.

We disagreed on some things, but we were able to “agree to disagree” and treat each other with respect. He was my Stephen King buddy. This sucks.

Did you tell him Under The Dome was a ripoff of The Simpsons movie and he got mad and left? 😆

Don’t get me wrong, I love Stephen King. But that book was a dud (for me at least). @SW-User

@DukeOfEarle I watched the tv series, it started off great but really tapered off into inaneness...
@SW-User Oh yeah! I forgot about the TV series...ewww. Well, sounds like the book. What do you think was the best TV adaptation of a King novel? I would put Salems Lot and It in a close tie

@DukeOfEarle I think the book is always much better than someone's adaptation...I really enjoyed the series the Mist, but I haven't read it to compare. I think it's time for a Salems Lot re-watch!!
It’s been a long time since i watched Salem’s Lot...it may not have aged well. I recall it was good...at least at the time. @SW-User

@DukeOfEarle funny how that happens, movies we really loved become ridiculous and dated
Yes. The Godfather still looks great. Scarface? Not so much. I still enjoy Scarface but it looks dated. @SW-User

@DukeOfEarle The 1990s mini-series of The Stand was pretty good. Considering that they had to cram a two-inch thick book into 16 hours of TV time, they did pretty well. My only complaint was Molly Ringwald as Frannie. Jennifer Garner would have been better.
My initial reaction to The Stand was I hated it. But years later after a second peek I now give it a pass. Not great. But my dislike of it has fugued into “tolerable.” I wish a big budget network like Netflix would make a go of it but please please please stick to the book!@SmartKat
