Yes. The saying is "your mask protects me and my mask protects you."

Not wearing a mask says to me, "I don't care about you even the least little bit."

@Mamapolo2016 yep. Which is why it frustrates me to no end when friends and families refuse.

@Mamapolo2016 You only actually need to be wearing them if you're in close contact with people. If you're able to social distance properly, it isn't necessary. There's no way that I'm walking around thinking that I don't care about people so I'm not going to wear one. I also have terrible asthma, so I wouldn't be able to keep it on very long.
@HannahBee I can sympathize with the asthma, definitely. But while 6 feet is the dictum, others theorize 13 or even 20 feet is close enough to transmit the virus.

And when you are in public, it's virtually impossible to know when close contact might happen. For example, yesterday at the post office, a toddler got away from his grandmother and ran in and out of other customers and she chased him. She was plenty close enough to transmit or receive the virus. Is that likely? Probably not. Is it possible? Yes.

These rules are 'in general' and defined to be reasonably followed.

As long as there's no regulation requiring the wearing of a mask, there's not much that can be done. But while I do realize there might be legitimate reasons not to wear one, when I see someone not wearing a mask, that's still my reaction.

Yes. In fact, when the epidemic is over,I may keep masks or a bandana on hand just in case.I'm going to think twice when it comes to hygiene, not shaking hands and be cautious or more aware of my surroundings and who I come in contact with

I haven't as yet. I managed to get two at the start of the lockdowm and gave them to an older at risk person. If it's mandatory to wear them, then I will.
@Travelbug it's,still voluntary I believe and I'm not telling you what to do but you should wear one
Travelbug · 56-60, F
@Fallenfromgrace I've had corona at the start and will wear one when I feel it's needed.

strictly. it's automatic now, and i may even do it for the rest of my life. all the stuff i learned about contagions and pollution during this ordeal has me thinking it's the new norm... for me, anyway.
just have to be sure not to confuse the one i wear in the bedroom with the one I wear shopping

If I have to be in public or close proximity to others, yes. Not home unless I am answering the door.
