Tornado sirens are going off, time to sit on the porch.

Can you tell i'm a kansas girl? :P Wish me luck

That's what us Kansas people do grab a 6 pack and wait for the show
Burrman · 56-60, M
@SarahAndSamantha where are you in KS. We have nothing going on in the KC area right now
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Burrman southeast corner.

I am a Nebraska born girl...spent every summer on my Grandfather's farm. The country is almost the same...flat...and you know when the twisters are coming because the sky turns that weird green color...and then you can see black sky in the distance.

I used to spot the funnels, and used to warn the family. Most of them didn't touch down...but if there was a warning on the radio we all got in my grandfather's car and drove down inside the potato cellar.

@4meAndyou That green sky is kinda terrifying, but oddly pretty at the same time.

I was born and raised in Joplin, and currently half an hour from there. We went through after that massive tornado and it was crazy not knowing where I was in a city i knew like the back of my hand. All my landmarks were just gone. I love storms, but that was terrifying.

@SarahAndSamantha Before I was old enough to remember, my Aunt's house was leveled by a tornado. She was able to get to a neighbor's house and shelter in their basement...otherwise they would all have died.

Not a tornado but i love being out in the storms caught this last summer
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@kodiac gorgeous!
kodiac · 22-25, M
@SarahAndSamantha I could feel the energy of that lightning!
curiosi · 61-69, F
Have a good time! Love watching storms. You can feel the energy.
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@curiosi Finally! somebody gets it!!
I have a similar reaction to hurricanes
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Callmewhatyouwill hurricanes are crazy. Was on the edge of Katrina when that hit. Holy crap!
@SarahAndSamantha I was also in the edge of Katrina, that was an intense one. my last one was Irma. Fell asleep before the eye passed over.

The smaller ones are much crazier.

I saw those storms on radar ... big gust front and rotations several supercells formed . Typical Kansas spring day?
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@TexChik there's never anything 'typical' weather-wise in kansas :P I'm used to it though.
TexChik · F
@SarahAndSamantha same here in the Texas panhandle ..,
Pretzel · 61-69, M
interesting to watch the cattle flying like they did on "twister" isn't it?

"cow"
"another cow"
"no I think that's the same cow"
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Pretzel We quote that damn near everytime we drive by a cow. I love that movie! (Helen Hunt helps ;) )

@DukeOfEarle I actually kinda like the way that sounds
@SarahAndSamantha I think that end of the world-sounding noise would get people’s attention more that the normal sounding siren ever would.
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@DukeOfEarle probably. you hear the normal one enough, and it doesn't have the same fear factor as it should. Time for a remix, i think
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
🤞🤦🏻‍♂️
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Picklebobble2 It's the only time I ever actually see my neighbors :P
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@MsAnnThropy danger part seems to be passed already. Now it's just a thunderstorm :)
jeancolby · 31-35, F
