Can god change his mind?

For all you believers out there..The God of the old testament was cool with slavery and yet Jesus wasn't down with it at all! So..God has changed his mind..which means he was wrong initially! So not an infallible God after all?
BlueVeins · 22-25
Jesus wasn't against slavery, to my memory.

@BlueVeins Fair point.

Without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin!

The promise is for you, and your children!

God demonstrates for us that sin brings death and requires blood sacrifices, the cutting of the fore skin, the slavery of the ungodly nations, the freeIng of Gods chosen people out of Egypt and slavery. He is God of the Old Testament and the new! Where God sheds his own son as the sacrifices lamb for the world for the remission of the worlds sins, where he circumsisez our hearts with the Holy Spirit, and frees us from slavery of sin!

Myths don't have minds

Yes there was some hardcore living in the old testament but God is trying to demonstrate its plan for the New testament and the son of God through the Prophets from the old testament to prophesied about Jesus Christ through many Generations. everything who Jesus Christ is
the word of God. Jesus did fulfill the prophets as well in the new testament.

The preparing of Jesus's crucifixion for our sins.

Also

Jesus did say to his disciples.

"I did not come to this world to demolish the commandments but to fulfill them.

Remember when Moses brought the stones to the people out of Egypt? Those are the commandments Jesus was referring to.

God doesn't Change.
The Bible does say he regretted making humans. Then goes on an extinction level event and floods the world.
Ozdharma · 61-69, M
god only exists in peoples minds so the answer is no
SW-User
I don't think the bible actually says anything against slavery in general. Tons against the bonds of evil, and against the Jews being enslaved in Egypt. But, for everyone else pretty sure JC was cool with it.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@SW-User you may buy slaves from neighboring nations...
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
Jesus was not God in entirety, he felt disheartened and abandoned by God at one time.
Jackaloftheazuresand · 26-30, M
@Entwistle yes, he did not carry all capabilities or knowledge of the father.
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@Jackaloftheazuresand So God and Jesus have different minds then?

DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
You know God didn't write the Bible right?
Carazaa · F
I believe it was inspired by God down to the very wording in Hebrew and Greek!@DearAmbellina2113
No but I think he changed hers
TexChik · F
Why would he need to ?
TexChik · F
@Entwistle nope
Entwistle · 56-60, M
@TexChik So there is something God can't do?
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Entwistle like he doesn't exist so...
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
Well the Old Testament is false in its teachings of God so God already had its mind made up.
msros · F
Mysterious.
