How do you let go of anger that you still feel for someone from your past?

Holdontothefire · 26-30, M
You talk about it, understand it, and get as much closure as you can. Forgiveness sounds like the tool of a weak person, but it's exactly the opposite in some situations...
At some point it hit me that I was still thinking about them and burning emotional energy, when they were almost assuredly not thinking about me. That made me mad enough to quit it.
I remember that by being angry the only person I'm hurting is myself; not like the person I'm mad at gives a fvck. 🤷‍♀️ helps for like a day.

Someone once told me the trick is to let go of the idea of a better outcome.

I wish I knew 🥺

You keep your distance from them. Time heals some wounds....not all unfortunately but it’s possible.

I can't, with some of it. All I can do, is not let myself dwell on it...mostly.

I honestly don't know, and I've had to do it a couple of times in the past few years. xD

I let go when I have nothing to do with them. Out of sight out of mind.😌

I don't, at one point that anger kept me going.
