If you are a male, just go grey. Salt and pepper as it occurs and finally grey. No one (except your spouse perhaps) will even mention the natural progression unless you grow a beard and then they will see the grey for sure.... it's weird but that is what happens...
If you are a female...you will notice and so will your girlfriends... and it will probably bother you. So look at some photos and find a complementary (grey) hairstyle you like and then rock it.
My wife decided that dying her hair was becoming a losing battle and after one of her girlfriends went "all grey"; my wife decided it was her time as well. I encouraged her to set up an appointment and she went in and had them cut off her extremely long (and hard to maintain/style/dry) hair and she went with a stylish shorter cut. She likes it (cute and much less hassle) and I like it cuz she rocks it and it looks great.

Pantothentic acid, also known as vitamin B-5, can slow down graying and also reverse some of it. My uncle & his brother took Shaklee vitamins in the 80’s and they both had silver hair. One day went to visit my uncle and he had gotten a haircut and his hair was salt-and-pepper. He said it was the vitamins & it did the same with his brother. I had a book about the research on pantothentic acid & they found it had reversed the color on adult mice that were born black and had turned gray.

I had a crush on a full-gray woman starting at around 30 years old. Gray doesn't scare me at all.

I’ve never dyed my hair.
My wife is using less and less color as we get more experienced.
