Has anyone here ever had a go with Bitcoin?

I’ve been hearing a few people talk about Bitcoin & to be honest I don’t really understand how it can possibly work if there’s nothing to back it up, but I was just curious if anyone had had a go & lived to tell the tale!?

If you don’t understand it there’s your answer. Unless you have money you don’t need and all your other investments are secure....otherwise please don’t! I’m “in the business” and I can assure you this is not a place to get advice on anything let alone finance!

Wise words!@luctoretemergo
I've heard from someone who used it, that's something you don't want to get mixed up with.
For the record I still believe in crypto but I sure as fuck am not putting my trust fund into the market.
@Chrisy1 it blows my mind that the grant ALONE basically PAYS my first two years.

Sounds like you know your stuff on investing! Not sure what VTI refers to? And stock market - isn’t that just going up all the time!? @BetweenKittensandRiots
@Chrisy1 VTI is vanguards total stock market ETF... an index fund

Times up dont touch them now.

Probably sensible! Personally I have no idea how they work so I wouldn’t touch them anyway!! @Sparklingwindd

@Chrisy1 I would wait to see how the blockchain tech evolves in future.. Some of my pals are working on this here in AU.. they have high hopes for the technology . I prefer to wait..
there is a new coin called PI that I am mining. I don't cost anything to mine it. I have heard it is going to be greater than bitcoin.
@Chrisy1 Lol, that is how I thought it worked. This new coin called PI is mined on a timer from a cell phone. You just install it, activate it and start mining coins. The catch is that it is by invitation only. But is anyone wants to mine it I can give an invitation. I would suggest to research it before you start mining it.
@GoldButterfly I got in relatively early in the Bitcoin journey I forget which year but it's probably been nearly a decade... fucking crazy 10 years.

There's a reason I wouldn't let my trust fund ride that...
@BetweenKittensandRiots Oh no, don't put money in it. One don't know where it may go in the future. That is what I like about this new PI coin. It can't be bought right now. Only mined. Nothing to lose with that one. With bitcoin one could lose a lot of money with just one coin. Way to risky for that
I remember making a wallet. I might have put some money into it.. .but I'm sure that wallet is long, long gone now.
yep.

It's been an insane ride. Not for the faint of heart to say the least.
