@whowasthatmaskedman aww but so few of them have any choice.. they are raised to be obedient and in many muslim countries they marry young women off to much older men.. and it's often legal to beat a woman and rape her if you are married to her.. they have no say, are barely allowed out of the house, aren't allowed to be seen by any man who isn't their husband or close male family.. they have NO say, the men are allowed to make all their decisions for them... they are little more than property. If they divorce often the man will keep the kids and the woman will have NO means of supporting herself, she can't work, her family are likely to disown her... Seriously, they don't deserve being treated this way.. but neither do they have any choice :(

@whowasthatmaskedman no, sweetness it's not.. and you would have to understand the patriarchal and horrible system there.. they can't leave.. there's no where to go, a woman isn't allowed out on her own.. her own family will at best disown her, she will never see her kids, (ask any mother how she feels about that!!) they may well kill her because they deem she has shamed them.. have you heard of honour killings? The law wont protect them and indeed they are likely to get stoned or imprisoned if they complain. They have no means of transport.. if they are out on their own they may be arrested and returned to their husband who actually as good as owns her... Seriously... this is not funny this is how many women live..

I think you are applying our cultural standards to this.. but in many muslim countries the reality for women is very different.
