Why are there so many reports of Ghosts?

For many many years there have been reports of ghosts, poltergeist activity and paranormal/supernatural stories that have taken place all over the world, yet none of it, as of yet been proven. I'm not disputing anyone who claims they have personally experienced it, as for them that is enough evidence and proof, but trying to convince others it was real is difficult from somebody with an objective point of view, skeptics.

I saw an entity when I was a child and there were many others who saw it at the same time too. When I was 19 my best friend and I saw a UFO hovering over the freeway. Cant prove what I saw but I am not a liar and saw these strange sightings whether anyone believes me or not.

People interpret according to what they expect. Those believing in ghosts will see them more often. And those believing in God will hear voices more often.
