Start banging out sets of push ups dude.
You’re a fucking beast. You can get through this moment.
It’s just a moment in time that will pass.
You are a fucking beast.

I nearly killed myself with booze for nearly 20 years...instead of improving my life I squashed my shit down with booze....when I stopped...the issues were there waiting for me. Make the right choice

Stay strong, that's nice that you're reaching out for support

My heart goes out to you man! I’m praying for you brother. You are a good guy. 12 step is the best. This is a rough road and a long journey. One day at a time. Call out to the Good Lord to help you, whether you believe or not, it doesn’t matter. He still loves you. In fact, even more. He knows what you are going through. You are not alone. Just knowing you may have issues, is halfway there to recovery. All the best, to you!

if it can help, these are some tricks i used to fight addiction. first, when you get a craving, feel it, analyse it, explore what that sensation is. then you can disassociate this discomfort from the believed fix, which is to consume. its not a craving, its a discomfort that we associate with a fix. but if you just look at the sensation, you realize its just a uncomfortable feeling, nothing more. and if you can live with that discomfort, then that's it, that's all addiction can do, make you feel like crap. after that, focus on the idea that you have a certain amount of time of discomfort to go through and then you'll be mostly free. but every time you go back, you start the timer at zero again and you have to go through the hard part again. meditation is the best. good luck.

I'm not. Do you have a meeting you can get to?
buddha95x · 31-35, T
@ravenwind43 No, i dont. I have friends who drink. I really need some adjustments in my life.I'd love to find a sponsor
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
@buddha95x Yep. Friends are great until they tempt you back to old behaviors. My cousin is new in recovery.

@buddha95x Meetings are everywhere and there will be a sponsor at each one. You need support

I didnt quit, l escaped. 33 years this month. Sanity is way better than chemically induced stupidity.

I'm a former addict, close enough, right?
It took me 3 rounds of rehab before I learned to replace my negative addictions with positive ones. Find something else that brings you more "peace" than drinking and if you can't, find someone who'll help you find your way.

It's easier said than done but it's do-able; and it's worth doing for you. I wish you well 🤗
